Rank loadingOne dual-rank module on one channel. Two ranks is a load most controllers train without complaint, so a single module is the configuration most likely to reach the rated 2400 on any board that takes it.
Speed2400 MT/s, 19.2 GB/s per channel. Deliberate: two 32 GB modules load a channel with four ranks, and most consumer IMCs derate a 4-rank channel to roughly 2133–2666 regardless of the bin printed on the module. A 3200 bin in that configuration buys a number you cannot run.
ProfileNone to enable. DDR4-2400 is a JEDEC bin, so the rated speed is the SPD speed: the board trains it with nothing switched on in firmware. That is what makes this line the safe answer for a locked OEM or workstation board that ignores Intel XMP 2.0 and its AMD equivalents (DOCP, A-XMP, AMP) entirely.
JEDEC fallbackThere is nothing to fall back to. The JEDEC bin is the rated bin. A kit that only reaches its rated speed through a profile has a slower JEDEC default underneath it; this one does not.
Operating voltage1.2 V, the JEDEC DDR4 rail, not a 1.35 V overclock profile. Less heat into the DRAM, which is why it survives without a spreader.
CAS latency / timingsA JEDEC bin — the module carries its own JEDEC SPD profile and the board trains it from that directly, nothing enabled in firmware. CAS latency in nanoseconds is CL × 2000 ÷ MT/s: at 2400 MT/s, CL17 is 14.2 ns. On a four-rank workstation channel the limiting factor is the memory controller derating the channel, not the CL.

Why 2400 is the right
number for this module.

Four ranks change the maths

A 32 GB non-ECC DDR4 UDIMM is dual rank. Populate two of them and the channel carries four ranks. Consumer memory controllers derate heavily under that load, commonly to 2133–2666 no matter what bin is printed on the module. Paying for a 3200 kit in this configuration buys a number the board will not train.

31.25 mm, bare

No heat spreader at all. That is the standard UDIMM PCB height, so it clears 140 mm tower coolers over slot 1, fits low-profile and rack chassis, and drops into OEM cases with no clearance budget. A lit 44 mm module does none of that.

1.2 V JEDEC

The JEDEC rail, not a 1.35 V overclock profile. Less power into the DRAM, less heat, which is exactly why it survives without a spreader. It also means no profile to enable, locked OEM boards that ignore XMP entirely will still run it at its rated bin.

19.2 GB/s per channel

2400 MT/s × 8 bytes. Both channels populated, 38.4 GB/s. For VM hosts, large working sets and compile jobs the limiter is capacity and page faults, not this number.

Unbuffered, non-ECC

These are UDIMMs. A board that requires registered or load-reduced memory will not POST with them, and there is no ECC. DDR4 has no on-die ECC equivalent to DDR5's. If the workload needs error reporting, this is the wrong part.

Against the range

Choose this for capacity per euro, clearance and boards that ignore profiles. Choose the DDR4-3200 or 3600 lines if the workload is latency- or bandwidth-bound and you are running one module per channel.

Three machines that should buy a faster bin.

A gaming build with two slots free

Two ranks on one channel at 2400 is the safe configuration, not the fast one. A gaming board with an unlocked controller and a memory menu will run the DDR4-3200 or DDR4-3600 lines a long way above this, and in the workloads that are memory-bound that difference is real.

Anything that needs registered or ECC memory

These are unbuffered non-ECC UDIMMs. A server board that requires RDIMM or LRDIMM will not POST with them, and no amount of capacity makes an unbuffered module into a registered one. The absence of ECC is also absolute: DDR4 has no on-die correction at all, unlike DDR5.

A machine with a spreader-shaped hole in the spec

The bare PCB is the point of this line, and it is also the thing people are surprised by. If the build is a windowed case where the memory is meant to be seen, buy the RGB line and accept the 44 mm height; nothing here will look like anything.
